WELCOME TO DAT ARCHAEOLOGICAL SERVICES

We provide an extensive range of archaeological services to the private and public sector in South-West Wales and nationally. These include consultancy advice, desk-top assessments, evaluations, excavations, geophysical surveys, buildings surveys, watching briefs and topographic surveys. We have undertaken over 2000 projects, ranging in size from small-scale watching briefs to large-scale excavation in advance of major developments, in a variety of environments, including rural, urban, intertidal and upland.

Based in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire in South-West Wales, DAT Archaeological Services has a complete understanding of the legislation covering Wales, planning structures and planning guidance, as well as planning structures in other parts of the UK, and is therefore well placed to offer clients advice and provide solutions on all aspects of cultural heritage and archaeology.

DAT Archaeological Services is the field services/contracting division of Dyfed Archaeological Trust. Founded in 1975, the Trust which covers the areas of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion is one of the longest established archaeological practices in Britain. The Trust is a Registered Organisation with the Institute for Archaeologists and we abide by their code of conduct and adhere to their relevant standards and guidance.
